Nothing goes to waste

Lark has lived in a tent in Kenya the past six years, spends her days turning drought- ridden, overfarmed land into lush forest, is completely vegan, and lives in a community, where nothing goes to waste. Not even their pee and poop. :-) This made a lot of the kids giggle.

Lark is the Kenya project director for Sadhana Forest a non-profit organization that aims to introduce a growing number of people to sustainable living, food security through ecological transformation, wasteland reclamation, and veganism. See the vision and outcome of this work here.

Lark shared powerful stories of how the people from her area have seen massive climate changes in their lifetimes, and spells out the science of how more trees = more rainfall. Hope you can watch the video to learn more about Lark and the volunteers of Sadhana Forest are leading sustainable lifestyles and think about ways you could incorporate some of the ideas, from cutting out meat to recycling and re-using everything!

Thank you, Lark! You're an inspiration!
